Multi-Family Apartment Project

This apartment project, located in a fast growing section of Reno, Nevada, is comprised of 7 unit types and 5 building types; a total of 245 units, with a clubhouse, onsite covered parking, and enclosed garages. The three story structures utilize today's wood framing techniques to avoid costly steel frames at the lower levels. Portions of the two parcels of this project were cut/fill lots. As such, potential differential settlement concerns were mitigated by the use of a post-tensioned foundation system. Other design elements included the use of Chance Helical piers to economically build deep foundations. These deep bearing steel piers, combined with concrete grade beams and a concrete slab-on-grade , provided a stable foundation system for portions of the onsite enclosed garages.
